Mrs. Dorothy Jean (Scott) Barber, age 85, of Spartanburg, South Carolina originally from Carrollton, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017. She was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on Sunday, January 3, 1932. Mrs. Barber was the daughter of the late Harvey Scott and the late Dolly (Malone) Scott. Besides her parents, Mrs. Barber is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Edward Barber; two sons, Paul Locke and Mickey Barber; one daughter, Melinda Michelle Campbell; and two sisters, Nettie Purvis and Mable Hayes.
Survivors include her six sons, Johnny Mengarelli of Charleston, South Carolina, Frank Mengarelli of Daytona, Florida, Anthony Calderone of Lauderdale, Florida, Michael Barber of Carrollton, Matthew Barber of Carrollton and Micah Barber of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, Joanne Mora of Millington, Tennessee; many grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church will hold a wake on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 2P.M. until 3P.M.
Graveside Services will immediately follow the wake at 3P.M. from the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery with Father Mario Lopez officiating.
