Mrs. Frances Jewel (Gass) Newcomb, age 77, of Temple passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016. She was born in Trenton, Georgia on Sunday, March 26, 1939. Mrs. Newcomb was the daughter of the late Homer P. Gass and the late Jewel (Wooten) Gass. Besides her parents, Mrs. Newcomb is also preceded in death by her two brothers, Clifton Gass and Glen Gass and two of her sisters, Cora Gregory and Dorothy Gass.
Survivors include her husband, John Earl Newcomb of Temple; her son, Berlis Leslie Glisson of Temple; one sister, Betty Hall of Trenton, Georgia as well as a number of other relatives.
In accordance with Mrs. Newcomb’s wishes, she will be cremated. Interment will be held at the Gass Family Cemetery in Trenton, Georgia at a later date.
