Bert Kelso Obituary

Mr. Bert Alexander Kelso, age 88, of Bremen passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 31, 1935. Mr. Kelso was the son of the late, James Kelso and the late, Jessie (Sharp) Kelso. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelso is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jean (Hamilton) Kelso, his brother, Eric Kelso, and by his sisters, Margaret Gilbert and Jean Hughes.

Mr. Kelso served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a Master Mason in the state of Michigan and went on to work as a Truck Driver for 34 years, retiring from Praxair, Inc. Mr. Kelso was lovingly referred to as “Pops” by most, and was known as a Great American Patriot. He was also known for his intelligence in a variety of areas, and he enjoyed building computers, woodworking, watching sports events, and most especially spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Jamie Kelso of Bremen; three daughters and sons-in-law, Narda and Kenneth Konchel of Bremen, Peggy and Curtis Miller of Belleville, Michigan, and Robin and Bob Gerych of Livonia, Michigan; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Candace, Shane, Autumn, and Zachary. Mr. Kelso is also survived by many great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Mr. Kelso’s arrangements, he will be cremated.

The family plans to hold an Inurnment Service at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, Michigan at a later date.
