Joyce (Smith) Holloman

Mrs. Joyce (Smith) Holloman, age 77, of Temple passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She was born in Edwardsville, Alabama on Friday, November 29, 1940. Mrs. Holloman was the daughter of the late Melvin Smith and the late Lavada (Skinner) Smith. Besides her parents, Mrs. Holloman is preceded in death by her two brothers, Paul Smith and John Smith and three sisters, Alice Ruth Turner, Floy Akers and Dorothy Wilson.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Edward Holloman of Temple; her son, Wade Holloman of Temple; her daughter, Susan Brock of Temple; three sisters, Yvonne Cash of Bremen, Chloe Harvell of Buchanan and Jo Thompson of Carrollton; her grandchildren and their spouses, Eric Brock of Temple, Adam and Meghan Brock of Temple, Justin and Erica Holloman of Bremen, Jessie Holloman of Waco and Maddison Wilson of Bremen; her great-grandchildren, Aiden Brock of Temple, Camden Brock of Tallapoosa, Jaxson Holloman of Bremen, Carter Brock of Temple and a number of other relatives.

Mrs. Holloman was a graduate of Temple High School. Later in life, she worked for and retired from Temple Elementary School as a Teacher’s Assistant. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and was called “Nanny” by many.   

Funeral services will be conducted at Concord Baptist Church on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 3 P.M. with Pastor Fred Cook officiating.

Mrs. Holloman will lie in state at the church from 1P.M. until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery with Eric Brock, Adam Brock, Justin Holloman, John Copley, Daniel White, Kenneth Bright, Shane Key and Shelby Agan serving as pallbearers.
