Vassar Ray Smith

Mr. Vassar Ray Smith, age 77, of Temple passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. He was born in Hillsboro, Florida on Friday, May 29, 1942. Mr. Smith was the son of the late Joe Smith and the late Veda Elease (Goodwin) Smith. Besides his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife, Rachell Joann (Beck) Smith. Mr. Smith made a career as an Aircraft Inspector for Lockheed Martin. He retired after 33 years of service.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, William and Mary Smith of Bowdon Junction; two daughters, Valerie Branch of Temple and Vanessa Anderson of Cumming; two step daughters and their spouses, Jenny and Ali Hajloo of Temple and Nancy and Carl Sweet of Temple; one sister, Cheryl Wooley of Florida; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Mr. Smith’s wishes, he will be cremated.
