Mr. Dan Stuwart Munro, Jr., age 78, of Temple passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was born in Atlanta, on August 3, 1945. Mr. Munro was the son of the late, Dan Stuwart Munro, Sr. and the late, Jesse Mae (Coleman) Munro. In addition to his parents, Mr. Munro is preceded in death by one brother, Grady Jackson.
Mr. Munro served in the United States Army from 1962 until his Honorable Discharge in 1965. He later served as Maintenance Supervisor for the Equitable Building in Atlanta for many years. Dan was known for his laid-back demeanor and wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed the simple things in life, cooking out on his smoker, growing tomatoes, taking care of his houseplants, going to the West Georgia Flea Market, watching NASCAR, eating spicy foods “the hotter the better”, and adding to his firearm collection. In his younger years, Mr. Munro also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to the ocean, deep sea fishing, and taking trips to Mississippi. Above all, Dan loved his family, and he will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Munro of Acworth and John and Kay Munro of Callaway, Florida; his daughter and son-in-law, Cyndi and Kevin Autry of Douglasville; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Tommy and Vickie Jackson of Euharlee and Johnny Jackson of Cobb County; his grandchildren, Zachary Munro, Dakota Munro, Mike Morrow, Jason Morrow, and a number of other relatives.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M.
In accordance with Mr. Munro’s arrangements, he will be cremated following the Visitation.
