Becky Wood

Mrs. Becky Wood, age 72, of Temple, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Born on October 8, 1953, in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of the late Howard M. Garner and the late Ruth Cary Garner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jamie Wood, and her brother, Butch Garner. 

Mrs. Wood dedicated many years of her life serving as an Office Administrator with Bar S Foods and Sysco Foods. Beyond her professional endeavors, she expressed her artistic spirit through her passion for crocheting, painting, and her deep love for music. She also cherished traveling, whether it was a trip to the mountains or a relaxing day at the beach. She was an admirer of Native American items, and she took delight in collecting lighthouses. Most importantly, her family was her greatest joy; her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Becky leaves behind her devoted husband of 53 years, Tim Wood of Temple; her daughter and son-in-law Brandi and David Barlow of Temple, and sons and daughters in-law Jason and Traci Wood of Temple, Brad and Amanda Wood of Buchanan; and four sisters and one brother-in-law, Sandi Gaines of Marietta, Sharon Smith of Carrollton, Bonnie Bedwell of Douglasville, and Pam Baskette and Jerry Gulley of Dallas. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren and their spouses: Austin (Skylar), Tristan (Caitlin), Hunter(Emily), Tyler, Benjamin, Emma, Alex, Logan, Cameron, Cheyenne, and Audrianna (Jarrett), along with her great-grandchildren, Jaxtyn, Kieran, Jaxton, River, Addy, Emersyn, Willow, Ava, and numerous other relatives.

In accordance with Mrs. Wood’s arrangements, she will be cremated. 

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 4 P.M.at the Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Jiles officiating. 

The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, prior to the service, from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Becky Wood’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
