Benjamin "Benny" David Carter

Mr. Benjamin “Benny” David Carter, age 75, of Bremen passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022. He was born in Marietta on Thursday, March 20, 1947. Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his father, Calvin Coolidge Carter and by two sisters, Mary Page and Joann Wilkes.

Mr. Carter worked for and retired from Cobb County Road Services. He enjoyed the outdoors, going hunting and fishing. Benny was known as a “jokester” who never met a stranger. He was a very talented singer and guitarist, who enjoyed listening to and playing country music. Above all, Benny loved being with his family and making trips with Lois to various yard sales and flea markets.

Survivors include his life partner, Lois Hammond of Bremen; his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jill Carter of Bremen; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and David Olson of Ellijay; his mother, Polly Carter of Powder Springs; his two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jenny Watkins of Acworth and Sue and Buddy White of Powder Springs; his grandchildren, Niccola Rosetti, Shane Phillips, Brittany Carter, Torianna Olson, Tassany Carter, Alex Cole and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, Mr. Carter will be cremated.

The family plans to hold a Memorial Service at a later date.
