Mr. Cleo Harb Ivey, age 83, of Temple passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025. He was born in Temple on June 3, 1942. Cleo Ivey was a man of remarkable character, whose love for family, fishing, and diligent work was matched only by his generosity and willingness to help others. To have known Cleo was to have known a true gentleman, guided by honor, dedication, and a profound love for those around him. With his captivating stories, humor, and unwavering commitment to caring for others, Cleo's memory will endure as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Mr. Ivey was the son of the late, Lonnie Martin Ivey and the late, Ida (Summerville) Ivey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ivey is preceded in death by one son, Charles Ivey; four brothers, Doil Ivey, Olin Ivey, Arlin Ivey, and Kenneth Ivey; and by one sister, Margaret Benefield.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of forty-five years, Tina (Ellis) Ivey of Temple; one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Amanda Ivey of Waco; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda and Larry Painter of Tallapoosa and Ashley Pearson and Jason Shaw of Temple; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Billy Joe Ivey of Temple, Leroy and Reba Ivey of Bremen, and Dorsey and Patricia Ivey of Temple; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eveline McBrayer of Villa Rica, and Dora Mae and Paul Bryant of Buchanan; his grandchildren, Dewayne Ivey, Kasie Gable, Tyler Ivey, Carson Ivey, Brant Ivey, Gabriel Fisher, Khrystina Campana, Kelley McPherson, Chad Walker, Morgan Caldwell, Nicholas Pearson, Andrew Pearson, Matthew Pearson, Nathan Pearson, Mason Pearson, and Jaxon Pearson. Mr. Ivey is also survived by his many great-grandchildren, his great-great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.
In accordance with Mr. Ivey’s wishes, he will be cremated.
The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
