Dorothy Runette Padgett

Mrs. Dorothy Runette (Cain) Padgett, age 88, of Carrollton passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. She was born in Lawrenceville on June 26, 1936. Mrs. Padgett was the daughter of the late Andrew Spurgeon Cain and the late Mary Inez (Wood) Cain. In addition to her beloved parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, William Barker, as well as her second husband, Jake Denny, and later, her third husband, Doug Padgett. Additionally, Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley McManners; her brother, Norman Andrew Cain; and by her sisters, Virginia Bennett, Eddie Mae Lancaster, Margie Ruth Cain, Alice Faye Reagin, Martha Jean Daniels, and Janice Crittenden.

Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Millie Barker of Texas, and one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Mark Clark of Winston. Her legacy is further carried on by her beloved grandchildren and their spouses: Elizabeth Barker, Katie and Dave Huot, Karen Cosby and James Daniel Cosby, Jr., and Todd and Chelsey Clark. Dorothy was also the proud great-grandmother of Alice, Zoey, Thomas, and Ember, among a number of other relatives

In accordance with Mrs. Padgett’s arrangements, she will be cremated.
