Gerald Murphy

Mr. Gerald Allen Murphy, age 52, of Waco passed away on August 7, 2024. He was born in Tucker, Georgia on January 28, 1972. Mr. Murphy is preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Faye (Clements) Murphy. 

Gerald was a Graduate of Lithia Christian Academy. He would later go on to work in construction for a number of years. Out of necessity, Gerald became a gifted auto mechanic and was very knowledgeable when it came to working on vehicles. He loved to drive, talking on the phone with his friends, cutting grass, going fishing, and helping others in need. Gerald was also known for his great sense of humor and always had a new joke to share. Above all, Gerald loved his family, and he will be dearly missed. 

Left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Amelia Subialdea of Waco; his son, Jonathan Murphy of Waco; his daughter, Montgomery Murphy of Waco; his father and step-mother, Huey Gerald Murphy and Patricia Murphy of Villa Rica; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Jeremy and Cynthia Murphy of Montana, Shane Vance of West Virginia, and Lester Murphy of Tennessee; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jerri Lynn Murphy of Missouri, and Yvette and Andy Little of Texas. Mr. Murphy is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and a number of other relatives. 

In accordance with Mr. Murphy’s arrangements, he will be cremated. 

The family will host a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11 A.M. at Church on the Word in Douglasville with Pastor John Alexander officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday, August 17, 2024, prior to the service, from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M.
