Harold Walter Dickinson

Mr. Harold Walter Dickinson age 78, of Carrollton passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023. He was born in Austell on May 23, 1945. Mr. Dickinson was the son of the late, Roscoe Jenkins Dickinson and the late, Lillian (Stephens) Dickinson. In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by one daughter, Holly Campbell and by one brother, Richard Dickinson.

Mr. Dickinson was a Master Mason, and a member of Douglasville Masonic Lodge #289 F&AM. Harold was also an avid collector and a jack of all trades. In his younger days, he enjoyed going fishing and hunting quail with his bird dog Sam.  Mr. Dickinson worked for many years as a Superintendent for L&B Construction. He also owned and operated H&I Mobile Homes with his brother Roy Dickinson. Mr. Dickinson was lovingly referred to as “Poppy” by his family. Harold was known for his kind heart and for his willingness to take care of others, most especially widows and children who were in need. Mr. Dickinson was deeply loved and respected by his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Judy (Bishop) Dickinson of Carrollton; his daughter and son-in-law, Ivy and Ben Camp of Winston; five brothers and one sister-in-law, Bobby Dickinson of Douglasville, Howard Dickinson of Douglasville, David Dickinson of Douglasville, John and Nancy Dickinson of Dawsonville, and Roy Dickinson of Villa Rica; three sisters, Ann Gray, Mary Shadix, and Dorothy Wadsworth all of Douglasville; his grandchildren, Tyler Campbell and his wife Katie Campbell and Judy Camp. Mr. Dickinson is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a number of other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday. November 9, 2023, at 1P.M. from Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in Central Baptist Church Cemetery in Douglasville.

In lieu of flowers, it was Mr. Dickinson’s request that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
