Mrs. Jessie Mae (Sam) Bright, age 75, of Winston passed away on August 25, 2025. She was born in San Juan, New Mexico on January 26, 1950. Mrs. Bright was the daughter of the late, Harry Sam and the late, Virginia (Lopez) Trujillo Sam. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bright is preceded in death by her husband, Hulett James Bright, and by two sisters, Vivian Yazzie and Alvera Sam. Being of Navajo heritage, Mrs. Bright was of the Towering House Clan. Born for Honágháahnii – One That Walks Around. Her maternal grandparents are ’Áshįįhnii - Salt People and her paternal grandparents are Táchii’nii – Red Running Into Water People.

With a career spanning over four decades, Mrs. Bright dedicated her life to the nursing profession, serving in various roles before retiring from WellStar Cobb Hospital. Above all, Jessie Mae Bright had an unwavering love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a source of encouragement and inspiration, always motivating those around her to strive for success and pursue their dreams.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Romero Bright of Douglasville, Shane (Brittany) Bright of Temple, and Jennifer Bright of Winston; three brothers, Harold Sam, Harlan Sam, and Wilson Trujillo; six sisters, Esther Rita Sam, Jeany Herrera, Verna Mae Sam, Vina Sam, Virginia Robinson, and Jaqueline Castillo; her grandchildren, Marshal Bright, Mitchel Bright, Jordan Bright, Cejay Bright, Destinee Pruitt, Zoey Pruitt, Isabella Pruitt, Autumn Pruitt, Ashley Bright, Rylee Bright, and Ashley Nicole Bright-Smith. Mrs. Bright is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Bristol Bright and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Mrs. Bright’s arrangements, she will be cremated.

The family plans to host a memorial service at a later date.
