Jessie Pauline "Polly" (Chandler) Potate

Mrs. Jessie Pauline “Polly” (Chandler) Potate, age 86, of Temple passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. She was born in Atlanta on June 4, 1937. Mrs. Potate was the daughter of the late, Paul Chandler and the late, Emma (Hunter) Chandler. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Potate is preceded in death by her son, Bart Potate; two brothers, Junior Chandler and Neil Chandler; and by her sisters, Essie Plunkett, JoAnn Jordan, and Grace Harrelson.

Mrs. Potate worked for a number of years for West Georgia Crown and Bridge. She enjoyed cooking, going to yard sales, shopping, and going to Hardee’s every morning for breakfast. Above all, Polly loved her family, and she will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, James Larry Potate, Sr. of Temple; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry Potate, Jr. and his wife, Teresa Potate of Temple, John Craig of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Ricky Craig of McDonough; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Brant and Marie Chandler of Douglasville and Raymond and Melanie Chandler of Fayetteville. Mrs. Potate is also survived by her brother-in-law, Chester Plunkett, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and a number of other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 5P.M. until 9P.M.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11A.M. at the Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Justin Erlenbusch and Dr. Corky Addison officiating.

Interment will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Temple with Justin Erlenbusch, Chandler Erlenbusch, Wesley Brown, Trae Brown, Jordon McGuire, and Kelly Jacobs serving as Pallbearers. Brant Chandler and Raymond Chandler will be serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
