John Earl Newcomb

Mr. John Earl Newcomb, age 87, of Temple passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. He was born in East Syracuse, New York on June 20, 1936. Mr. Newcomb was the son of the late, John Newcomb and the late, Margaret (Furlong) Newcomb. In addition to his parents, Mr. Newcomb is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jewel (Gass) Newcomb and by his sister, Peggy Wright.

Mr. Newcomb served in the United States Navy from 1955 until his Honorable Discharge in 1958. Following his service in the Navy, John worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for West Georgia Ambulance and for Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica for many years. John was also a member of the Carrollton Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Berlis Leslie Glisson of Temple. Mr. Newcomb is also survived by a number of other relatives and by his many friends.

In accordance with Mr. Newcomb’s arrangements, he will be cremated.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 12 Noon at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens with Reverend David Hulsey officiating.
