John Wayne Sullivan

August 7, 1950 — November 1, 2020

Mr. John Wayne Sullivan, age 70, of Dallas passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020. He was born in Starkville, Mississippi on Monday, August 7, 1950. Mr. Sullivan was the son of the late, John L. Sullivan and the late, Lovie Inez Whatley. Besides his parents, Mr. Sullivan is preceded in death by one daughter, Lila Denise Sullivan; one brother, Felix Sullivan and by one sister, Mildred Burt.

Mr. Sullivan served his country in the United States Army. Later in life, he owned and operated GS Vet Group Construction Company. Mr. Sullivan was a member at Life Church in Lithia Springs. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in the garden and playing his guitar.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda (Ferguson) Sullivan of Dallas; his son, Shannon Sullivan of Starkville, Mississippi;  two daughters and one son-in-law, Brandi and Chris McBride of Temple and Angela Shea Hale of Dallas; one brother and sister-in-law, Jamie and Ellie Whatley of Eupora, Mississippi; one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Petal, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Haley McBride, Isabella McBride, Gabrielle McBride, Cheyenne Hale, Brooklyn Hale and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 3P.M. from Life Church in Lithia Springs with Evangelist Kathy Johnson and Pastor Alan Wadrop officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, from 1P.M. until the funeral hour.

Interment with military funeral honors will be conducted at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at a later date.

Messages of condolence can be made to the family by signing the online tribute wall/ guestbook.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a Veteran’s Charity of your choice, in Mr. Sullivan’s memory or donations can be made to the family, by calling the funeral home, to assist in funeral expenses.
