Jon Seth Black

Jon Seth Black, age 87 of Douglasville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, August 30, 2026.  Born in Albion, Indiana, on July 1, 1939, he was the son of the late Glen Black and the late Evelyn Frymier Black.  In addition to his parents, Jon is preceded in death by his sister, Sally.

Growing up in Indiana, Jon completed high school and attended college. He worked for many years in the food industry.  He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves play. In his younger years he spent hours on the golf course and in his later years you could find him relaxing with a book.  His kind and sweet demeanor will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife July Ivey Black; his daughters Jona Slone and Amy Katz; sons Todd Black and Michael (Allison) Williams; his sister Michelle (George) Collins; and several grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pawpaw."  Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Jane Wright; and brothers-in-law, Terry Ivey and Jerry Ivey.

In keeping with Jon's wishes, he will be cremated.

Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Temple.
