Larry Lee Andrist

Mr. Larry Lee Andrist, age 77, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was born in Pine Island, Minnesota on February 21, 1948. Mr. Andrist was the son of the late, Charles James Andrist and the late, Nellie Katherine (Yennie) Andrist. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by one brother, Orlo Charles Andrist; and by three sisters, Lorraine Johnke, Vickie Hervey, and Arlene Collins.

Larry graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and went on to enjoy a fulfilling career in accounting. His professional journey allowed him to travel and live in various places across the country, including Minnesota, Washington State, Las Vegas, and Augusta, Georgia before finally settling in Villa Rica, Georgia where he retired from the Medical College of Georgia after many years of dedicated service. Larry was proud of his Minnesota heritage, and cherished moments spent fishing and cheering for his beloved teams, the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. Above all, he held his family dear and considered them his greatest achievement.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Linda (Grothen) Andrist of Villa Rica, Georgia; his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Eric Andrist and Liberty Andrist of Villa Rica, Georgia; his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jefferson Upchurch of Mableton, Georgia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Edie Andrist of Pine Island, Minnesota and Charles and Jolette Andrist of Rochester, Minnesota; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Nelda and Dewayne Sattre of Pine Island, Minnesota and Leone Looft of Rochester, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Max Andrist and his wife, Kara of Seattle, Washington; Emily Andrist of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jack Andrist of Villa Rica, Georgia, Finley Andrist of Villa Rica, Georgia, Andrew Upchurch of Mableton, Georgia and Charlotte Upchurch of Mableton, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Wren Andrist and Phoebe Andrist. Mr. Andrist is also survived by his beloved pet and companion, Princess, as well as a number of other relatives and friends.

In accordance with Mr. Andrist’s arrangements, he will be cremated.

The family plans to hold a private memorial service at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Douglasville, GA in January 2026.

Interment will follow at a later date in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, West Miltona, Minnesota.
