Mr. Larry Lee Massey, Sr., age 78, of Temple, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. He was born in Columbus, Georgia, on September 6, 1948, and was the son of the late Herschel Frederick Massey, Sr. and the late Lois Lee (Page) Marcoux.
Larry was a hard-working man who devoted more than thirty years of his life to the trucking industry. He loved his work and especially enjoyed being behind the wheel. Most recently, he worked as an Owner/Operator with Julius Shore Logistics in Duluth.
Outside of work, Larry enjoyed good food, watching cooking shows on television, and hosting family cookouts and get-togethers. He also enjoyed visiting his favorite seafood restaurant, Six Feet Under. Larry will be remembered for his kind and generous nature and for always being willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Above all, he cherished his family and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as “Pawpaw.”
Larry was a Christian by faith and attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Toni Marie (Noonan) Massey of Temple; his children, Larry “Boz” Lee Massey, Jr. and fiancée, Michelle Edmonson, of St. Cloud, Florida, Angie Johnson and her husband, Jeff, of St. Cloud, Florida, and Linda K. Sullivan of Dallas, Georgia; his brothers, Homer Don Massey of St. Cloud, Florida, Herschel Frederick Massey, Jr. of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Herman Massey and his wife, Sandy, of Kissimmee, Florida; his sisters, Dorothy Hunt of Michigan, Betty Harvey and her husband, Bud, of Canton, and Lois Jean Benton of Villa Rica; his grandchildren, Jackson Noah Massey, Emily Paige Martinez, Hayley Elizabeth Sullivan, Emily Ann Taylor Sosebee, Justyn Wayne Sullivan, and Keltyn Shayne McKinley; and his great-grandchildren, Taylor Ruth Grace Campbell, Skyler Daye Sosebee, Barrett Lee Sosebee, Jacey Sullivan, and Cammie Sullivan. Mr. Massey is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In accordance with Mr. Massey’s wishes, he will be cremated.
Memorial service arrangements will be announced once they have been finalized.
