Laura Marie Mickey

Mrs. Laura Marie (Pope) Mickey, age 68, of Bremen passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was born in Villa Rica on March 31, 1957. Mrs. Mickey was the daughter of the late, James Harold Pope and the late, Phyllis (Long) Pope. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mickey is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Mickey; by one brother, Kenneth Pope; and by one granddaughter, Maycee Mickey.

Laura was a proud graduate of Temple High School. With a dedication to serving others, Laura made her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing care and support to countless residents in various nursing homes throughout her years. Most recently, she was employed at Douglasville Nursing and Rehab, where her kindness and unwavering commitment to her patients left a lasting impact. Laura was Christian by faith, and a member of King St. Christian Church in Carrollton.

Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Melanie Mickey of Bremen; her daughter and son-in-law, Diedre and Joesph Bell, Jr. of Columbus; step-daughter, Natasha Cox of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Guy and Teresa Pope of Carrollton and Brian Pope of Villa Rica; her grandchildren, Andrew Mickey, Brooke Griffis, Tori Griffis, Jonathan Mickey, Jody Mickey, Dajza Mickey, Sharese Grant, Jaudon Grant, Jr., Daren Bell, Jacob Bell, Jona Bell, Jaden Bell and his wife Star, Brandon Young, and Azpen Traylor; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah McCoy, Jeremy McCoy, Marquis Grant, and Jamari Grant; nephews, Kenneth Pope and John Pope; niece, Allison Pope. Mrs. Mickey is also survived by a number of other great-grandchildren, her special pet dog Rudy, and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Mrs. Mickey’s arrangements, she will be cremated.

The family plans to hold a Memorial Gathering at a later date.
