Lydia Ann McCauley

Ms. Lydia Ann “Bird” McCauley, age 74, of Temple, passed away on December 15, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1951, in Anniston, Alabama, to the late Leonard A. “Mac” McCauley, Sr. and the late Lillian Louise (Mitchum) McCauley.

Lydia dedicated many years to her career at SUPERVALU, where she worked in IT and Data Processing. A passionate and active member of her community, she served as a camp counselor for the Girl Scouts at Camp Cottaquilla in Alabama. Lydia cherished her time spent reading, playing softball, and traveling with her father to the beautiful orchards in Virginia and North Georgia. For a number of years, she was also an active member of the Optimist Club Douglasville Chapter.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother and sister-in-law, Leonard A. “Len” McCauley, Jr. and his wife, Mai, from Anniston, Alabama; her nephew, Arlin McCauley and his wife, Jessica from Alabama; her niece, Jessica Mogill and her husband, Michael, from Atlanta; close friends Peyton Hartness “Big Sister” and Evie Hartness; friend and caregiver Peta Knight-Dennis; and many other dear relatives.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2 P.M. (Central Standard Time) at Forestlawn Gardens in Anniston, Alabama with Rector David Hodnett and Mr. Len McCauley officiating.
