Pastor Joseph Wayne Feathers, Sr., age 68, of Temple passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022. He was born in Atlanta on Monday, May 10, 1954. Pastor Feathers was the son of the late, Lou Willis Feathers, Jr. and the late, Helen Marie (Jacobs) Feathers. In addition to his parents, Pastor Feathers is preceded in death by his wife, Anita Faye (Lawrence) Feathers and by one sister, Marien Brumelow.
Pastor Feathers was passionate about preaching the Word of God and was known for his words of wisdom as well as the object lessons he taught. In addition to preaching, Pastor Feathers also enjoyed painting, listening to audio books, telling jokes, and singing to new people, just to put a smile on their faces. Pastor Feathers loved his family dearly as well as everyone else he came in contact with.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Feathers, Jr. and Felina Feathers of Temple; his daughter and son-in-law, Selena and Michael Miahnahri of Villa Rica; his brother, Lou Willis Feather III of Fort Payne, Alabama; one sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Rodney Bellew of Douglasville; six grandchildren, Dustin Feathers and his wife Amy Feathers, Amelia Feathers, Pierce Feathers, Olivia Feathers, Ezra Miahnahri, and Leila Miahnahri; one great-grandchild, Presley Feathers and a number of other relatives.
In keeping with Pastor Feathers wishes, he will be cremated.
The family plans to conduct a Memorial Service at a later date.
