Mr. Russell Lee Schultz, age 79, of Temple passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was born in Hayward, California on April 21, 1946. Mr. Schultz was the son of the late, Alfred Schultz and the late, Pauline (Dallman) Schultz. In addition to his parents, Russell is preceded in death by his brothers, Butch Schultz and Richard Lerza and by his sisters, Sharon Anderson and Priscilla Spillman.

Mr. Schultz was a proud patriot and served honorably in the United States Army. After his service in the military, he dedicated 18 years of his career to the City of Carrollton, where he worked in both Animal Control and the City Maintenance Department. Russell had a special place in his heart for animals and was passionate about volunteering with animal rescues. He also took great joy in being involved as a Scout Leader when his children were younger. In his later years, he found enjoyment riding his motorcycle, going to auctions and finding collectibles. Above all, his family was his greatest treasure, and he will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Sharon Schultz of Temple; his son and daughter-in-law, Heath and Benita Schultz of Temple; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Phillip Burns of Bremen; his grandchildren, Eric Goodgine and his wife Shelbie, Tyler Bearden, Brittany Schultz, Chase Schultz and his wife Meghan, and Thomas McGraw.
