Sonya Cecelia Nordholm

Mrs. Sonya Cecelia (Rutledge) Nordholm, age 70, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. She was born in Douglasville on August 4, 1954. Mrs. Nordholm was the daughter of the late, Howard Rutledge and the late, Geraldine (Defnall) Styles.

Mrs. Nordholm was Christian by faith and a member of Journey Fellowship Baptist Church (formerly Midway Baptist Church) of Bremen. She was also an entrepreneur, owning and operating Hometown Video and Wing Shack in Temple for a number of years. Sonya was very outgoing, and she will be remembered for her love for others, her unselfish nature, and greeting many as “Honey”, “Sugar”, or “Darlin”. Sonya enjoyed reading her Bible, watching Les Feldick Ministries Programs and spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Henry Nordholm; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Chris Nordholm of Carrollton, and Kevin and Michelle Nordholm of Temple; her daughter, Kathy Nordholm of Temple; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Peggy Rutledge of Bremen; her sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Doyce Henry of Bremen; her grandchildren and their spouses, Tamia Farmer and her fiancé, Preston Young, Mikel and Summer Nordholm, and Leila Nordholm; her great-grandchildren, Luca Young, Isla Nordholm, and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Sonya’s wishes, she will be cremated.
