Tyra Orell Garner

Mr. Tyra Orell Garner, age 78, of Rockmart passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was born in Rockmart on September 21, 1944. Mr. Garner was the son of the late, James Steve Garner and the late, Thelma Inez (Keown) Garner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Garner is preceded in death by four brothers.

Mr. Garner was a devoted and loving husband for over 60 years. He made his career working for Ford Motor Company for 35 years before his retirement. Orell enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing and hunting. Mr. Garner was always willing and received enjoyment in helping others in need.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Gail (Puckett) Garner of Rockmart; his sons and daughter-in-law, Samuel Terry Garner of Rockmart and Steve Richard and Molly Brown Garner of Rockmart; his granddaughters, Melissa Garner Everett and her husband, Payton Everett and Sara Elizabeth Garner. Mr. Garner is also survived by one brother, one sister, and a number of other relatives.

A private graveside service will be held at Yorkville Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Danny Puckett and Brother Tim King officiating.
