William Douglas Steadham

October 23, 1944 — October 19, 2025

Mr. William Douglas “Doug” Steadham, age 80, of Temple, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025. He was born in Villa Rica on October 23, 1944, to the late William (Bill) L. Steadham, Jr. and Mary Helen (Shadrix) Steadham.

A proud graduate of West Georgia College in 1966, Doug dedicated his early career to education as a teacher at Temple Middle School, where he also shared his enthusiasm for sports by coaching basketball. However, his passion for hands-on work led him to a fruitful career in construction, where he flourished as a residential and commercial builder for many years. In addition to his accomplishments in construction, Doug dedicated several years to cattle and horse farming. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was known for his talents as a skilled photographer and woodworker. Above all, Doug remained devoted to his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.

Doug leaves behind his beloved wife, Rhonda Gayle Brock of Temple; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Amy Steadham of Douglasville, and Trey and Tina Steadham of Carrollton; and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Zan Marie Steadham of Temple. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Cameron Steadham of Douglasville, and Megan Obermeyer and her husband Draper of Winston.

A graveside service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 2 PM at The Church at Carrollton Cemetery, with Reverend Russell Shadrix officiating.

Messages of condolence can be made to the family by signing the online guestbook at www.croftfuneralhome.com.

The arrangements are entrusted to Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Temple.
