Alvin James Bunkofske

Mr. Alvin “Al” James Bunkofske, age 84, of Temple passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023. He was born in Harrison, Iowa on September 7, 1938. Mr. Bunkofske was the son of the late, William M. Bunkofske and the late, Myrtle Marie (Harsch) Bunkofske. In addition to his parents, Alvin is preceded in death by one son, Scott; by four brothers, Cecil, Darrel, Donald, and Dwayne; and by three sisters, Dorthea, Vivian, and Elaine.

Mr. Bunkofske retired after working for many years with Process Plastics in Montgomery, IL. In his younger years, Alvin was a talented stock car driver and enjoyed watching NASCAR races throughout his life. Mr. Bunkofske was known as a jack of all trades and as a hard worker. Al and Dorothy also ran a home décor business for many years called “Beautiful Homes” where he was especially talented at hanging wallpaper and painting. Mr. Bunkofske will be dearly remembered for his sense of humor and the love he had for his family.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. (Gove) Bunkofske of Temple; his sons, Todd, Eric, and James; his daughters, Traci, Sandra, Candice, Kathy, Cheryl, and Jade; his brother, Darwin; and by his sisters, Edith and Floy. Mr. Bunkofske is also survived by his special granddaughter, Lacy and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Mr. Bunkofske’s wishes, he will be cremated.
