Obituary

 

Mrs. Bertha Mae (Dempsey) Wofford, age 93, of Villa Rica passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. She was born in Atlanta on Tuesday, March 26, 1929. Mrs. Wofford is preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Louis Swafford; three sons, Ronnie Wofford, David Wofford, and Wayne Wofford; her brothers, Noah Dempsey, Sam Dempsey, Elish Dempsey, and John Dempsey; her sisters, Rosie Dempsey, Lilly Dempsey, and Minnie Dempsey.

Mrs. Wofford was a member of Clearview Baptist Church in Douglasville. She enjoyed planting and working in gardens, taking care of her chickens, and sitting on the front porch. Mrs. Wofford will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Paul Wofford of Villa Rica; two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty Morgan of Carrollton and Brenda and Henry Morgan of Villa Rica. Mrs. Wofford is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives.

In accordance with Mrs. Wofford’s wishes, she will be cremated.
