Cintha Melanie Ann (McDaniel) Gaines

Mrs. Cintha Melanie Ann (McDaniel) Gaines, age 58, of Temple passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. She was born in Atlanta on Thursday, November 1, 1962. Mrs. Gaines was the daughter of the late, Harold McDaniel and the late, Nadine (McClure) McDaniel. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gaines is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Rodger Jones.

Mrs. Gaines was described as having a “heart of gold” and she would help anyone in need. Even in the days where she felt the worst, due to illness, she was always concerned for others. Having worked at various veterinarian clinics, Cintha had a love for animals. Mrs. Gaines enjoyed the holidays and any event where she was around family. She also enjoyed decorating for the holidays, collecting numerous penguin toys and penguin themed items, going to the beach (especially Jekyll Island) and above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Tommy Gaines of Temple; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Steve and Jennifer Walton of Odenville, Alabama, Keith and Stephanie Walton of Douglasville, and Sven Walton of Frankfurt, Germany; her sister, Elaine Jones of Brookside, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Austin Embry, Aleina Walton, Aubri Walton, Katelyn Barker, Emma Barker, June Barker and Malena.

In accordance with Mrs. Gaines wishes, she will be cremated. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
