Joann (Dunaway) Harmon

Mrs. Joann (Dunaway) Harmon, age 71, of Temple passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019. She was born in Villa Rica on Friday, August 20, 1948. Mrs. Harmon is preceded in death by her father, Earl Cannon Dunaway.

Survivors include her husband, Lester Harmon of Temple; two daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Jason Bice of Temple and Carol and Barry Shumake of Temple; her mother, Peggy Joan (Potate) Dunaway of Temple; her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Jimmy Tidwell of Temple; three grandchildren, Gerald and his wife, Meghan Shumake of Bremen, Taylor Shumake of Temple and Rylee Bice of Temple; two great-grandchildren, Samantha Shumake and Jackson Shumake; Aunts and Uncles, Gail and Doug Keith of Hiram, Larry and Polly Potate of Temple as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 5P.M. until 8P.M.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 2P.M. from Temple First Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Boswell officiating. Mrs. Harmon will lie in state at the church from 1P.M. until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in Asbury Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Gerald Shumake, Taylor Shumake, Larry Potate, Jr., Tony Collins, Derrick Duffey, Doug Keith, Eric Tidwell and Wayne Garner.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Temple First Baptist Church (P.O. Box 309 Temple, GA 30179).
