Mary Madgelene (Lanning) Smith

Mrs. Mary Madgelene (Lanning) Smith, age 85, of Temple passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. She was born in Acworth on Sunday, September 16, 1934. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late, Francis Millard Lanning and the late, Mamie Louise Lanning. Besides her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Carnes; her brother, David Franklin Lanning; and one sister, Clara Mae Bennett.

Survivors include her husband, James Harold Smith of Temple; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna and Richard Price of Woodstock and Julie and Ralph Marques of Temple; eight sisters, Sara Frances Farmer of Adairsville, Martha Sue Hess of Marietta, Barbara Ann Brown of Andersonville, South Carolina, Mevlyn Louise Durden of Marietta, Sandra Irene Brookshire of Acworth, Margie Ruth Blackmon of Villa Rica, Brenda Faye Lanning of Acworth and Carol Marie Hall of Aragon; four grandchildren, Emily Marques and Katelin Marques both of Temple, Jessica Price and Michael Price both of Woodstock and a number of other relatives.
